Damien stayed unbeaten in Baseline League play thanks to Monday’s 2-1 victory at Upland.

Andrew Carter went six innings to earn the win.

Carter surrendered just an unearned run on three hits.

He issued two walks and struck out six UHS batters.

Paul Barrera got the final two outs to earn the save.

Josh Angely’s double was the game’s lone extra-base hit.

Andrew Ash singled and scored for the Highlanders.

Nate Marquez got the loss after allowing two runs on four hits over his five innings.

Marquez walked four and struck out one Damien batter.

Brendan Ash provided two scoreless and hitless innings of relief.

Justin Dunn singled and had an RBI.

Jett Hernandez walked twice, singled and scored for the Spartans.

Nikko Paoletto and Daniel Serna had one single apiece in Monday’s win.

Carter also scored once to help his own cause.
