Baseball:
South Hills opened Hacienda League play with a sweep of Los Altos.
On Friday, Daniel Camou (five innings), Luke Bauer and Sterling Patick combined on a five-hit shutout.
The Huskies defeated the visiting Conquerors, 2-0, as Camou scattered four hits, didn’t issue a walk and struck out six.
Chris Barrientos, Jake Ruelas, Brett Beals, Isaac Galindo and Edgar Reynoso had one single apiece for LAHS.
Andy Jimenez went the distance and was saddled with the loss.
Jimenez surrendered two runs on four hits.
He issued one walk and fanned five.
Matt Moreno doubled and scored.
Noah Malone doubled, scored and had an RBI.
Malaki Pelayo went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Dom Prieto singled for the Huskies.
On Saturday, Joseph Moreno and Luke Bauer combined on a no-hitter in a 2-1 victory.
Moreno went 6 1/3 hitless innings, allowing one run, walking five and he struck out eight Conquerors’ batters.
Bauer would get the save by getting the final two outs, both of which came via strikeout.
Gabriel Rodriguez surrendered two runs on three hits over his three innings.
Rodriguez walked three and fanned a pair of SHHS batters.
Marcos Rosales walked, doubled and scored.
Pelayo walked twice and scored.
Bauer went 2-for-3.
Matt Moreno and Steven Jimenez had one single apiece in Saturday’s win.
