College Baseball:
Chaffey got a twofer on Friday.
The Panthers picked up a 7-1 victory at second-place Mt. San Jacinto.
And in the process, they remained the Inland Empire Athletic Conference’s only unbeaten program.
Chaffey also extended its current win streak to nine games.
Former Glendora lefty Donovann Jackson was outstanding.
Jackson went the distance and allowed one run on six hits.
He walked one and fanned two.
Gavin Copeland’s second-inning single scored Will Potter, but that was all the MSJ offense could muster.
Christian Smith went 2-for-4 and Kyle Serna doubled.
Pierce Sailer was saddled with the loss.
Sailer went five innings and was charged with three unearned runs on four hits.
He walked three and fanned three Chaffey batters.
Jack Siegel was touched up for three runs on three hits over his 2 2/3 innings.
Clay Porter walked, singled twice, scored and had an RBI.
Jacob Billings singled twice, doubled and scored a pair of runs.
Matt Chavez singled, scored twice and had three RBIs.
Steven Mara walked, singled, doubled and had two RBIs.
Aaron Whobrey and Noah Nichols walked and scored one run each.
Michael Woodward, Clay Porter and Steven Mara each had a sac fly.
Up next: Chaffey will host Mt. San Jacinto today (Saturday) at 1.
