Rio Hondo Prep picked up win No. 4 of the 2023 season on Monday.
The Kares dropped the hammer on Compton Early College, 17-1, in a five-inning mercy-rule victory.
Alex Mustain got the win after going three innings and allowing one unearned run on two hits.
Mustain walked one and fanned eight.
Nate Curtis got the final six outs for the Kares.
Ryan McCulloch had a monster game.
McCulloch singled, doubled twice, tripled, scored three times and had six RBIs.
Anthony Hernandez singled twice, doubled, scored a pair of runs and drove in five.
Yanick Diaz walked twice, singled and scored two runs.
Josh Tafflinger walked and scored a pair of runs.
Curtis walked, had an RBI and scored three runs.
Ivan Tkach walked, singled, scored and had an RBI.
Elijah Gavia walked, singled and drove in a pair of runs.
Jacob Gomez went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs.
Josh Curtis singled twice and scored two runs.
