Joseph Moreno Goes 5 Scoreless Innings & Allows 1 Hit in South Hills’ 8-0 Victory Over Tesoro in Monday’s Perfect Game Tournament

Three South Hills pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout (8-0) over Tesoro at the Perfect Game Tournament.

The Huskies earned a spot in the tourney’s title game against this weekend’s Bonita-Oaks Christian winner.

Joseph Moreno went five innings to get the win.

Moreno allowed one hit, walked four and struck out four.

Luke Bauer and Justin Romero provided one scoreless inning of relief apiece.

Carter Jorissen singled and doubled, and Owen Faust doubled to account for all of the Titans’ offense.

Caden Engelken got the loss after surrendering four runs on four hits over four innings.

Engelken walked one and fanned four South Hills batters.

The Huskies got two runs off of both Logan Zakhar and Garrett Johnston on five combined hits and two walks.

Noah Malone hit a three-run home run to give the Huskies a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Paul Vazquez went 3-for-4, with a home run, drove in a pair, and scored twice.

Matt Moreno singled, doubled, scored and had one RBI.

Dom Prieto singled, scored and had an RBI.

Marcos Rosales and Landon Hansen singled and scored one run each.

Up next: South Hills will host Damien on Wednesday afternoon.
