In a battle of CIF-SS ranked programs, South Hills picked up a 12-2, mercy-rule victory over Glendora in six innings.
The Huskies scored two or more runs in four of the game’s six frames at the Perfect Game West Coast High School Showdown.
Evan Ellis was stuck with the loss.
Ellis surrendered four runs on seven hits over his four innings.
He walked three and struck out five Huskies’ batters.
South Hills got three runs apiece off Matthew Martinez and Mizuki Williamson.
Marcos Rosales had a huge night.
He walked, doubled, tripled, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.
Steven Jimenez walked, singled twice, had one RBI and scored two runs.
Matt Moreno walked two times, singled, scored and had one RBI.
Noah Malone walked, singled and scored a pair of runs.
Dom Prieto walked twice, singled and had an RBI.
Elias Reyes got the win after going 3 2/3 innings and allowing two runs on three hits.
Reyes walked three and fanned four GHS batters.
Justin Romero and Anthony Gaono provided a combined 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief.
Romero struck out three and Gaono had two strikeouts.
Aaron Jacobsen walked, singled and scored both GHS runs.
