PCC Pounds Out 14-4 Victory Over ELAC on Monday to Claim First SCC Series of Season; Trabbie Goes 4-for-5 w/Double, Triple & 4 RBIs

College Baseball:

Pasadena City College opened the South Coast Conference portion of its schedule with a 2-1 series victory over East Los Angeles College.

On Monday, the Lancers scored five runs in the top of the second inning and got nine more in the ninth to cruise to a 14-4 road victory.

PCC out-hit ELAC, 15-9, and had just one error, as compared to three for the Huskies.

Francisco Dominguez got the loss, despite surrendering just one earned run, walking one and striking out 11.

Eduardo Sanchez allowed five runs (four earned) on four hits.

And Victor DeLeon was touched up for four ninth-inning runs (three earned) on two hits and a pair of walks.

Jake Trabbie was the offensive star for the Lancers.

Trabbie went 4-for-5 with two singles, a double, triple, two runs scored and a game-high four RBIs.

Matthew Delgado singled, doubled, scored and drove in a pair of runs.

Aryonis Harrison walked, singled, scored twice and had one RBI.

Toshiki Kuriya singled twice, scored and drove in a run.

Amaris Harrison contributed a pinch-hit RBI single.

Damien Ureta singled, doubled and scored, and Alex Dolan singled twice and scored.

Josh Hernandez walked, singled, scored and had an RBI.

Ivan Barragan walked, scored and had an RBI.

Jack Esguerra walked and scored twice.

Tommy Castillo scored and had one RBI.

Jakob Guardado earned the win, going six innings and allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits.

He walked two and fanned four ELAC batters.

Rider Gardner provided three scoreless innings of relief to close out the win.

Gardner surrendered just one hit, didn’t issue a walk and struck out four ELAC batters.

Michael Easter and Beno Olmeda combined for six of the Huskies’ nine hits.

Easter singled, doubled twice and scored.

Olmeda went 3-for-4, with a double, two runs and an RBI.

Alex Solis walked, singled and had an RBI.

Jayden Solorio singled and scored.

Emiliano Campos and Alex Mendez had one RBI apiece in Monday’s loss.
