Girls Basketball:
La Salle continues to look the part of the top seed in the CIF-SS Division 2AA playoffs.
The Lancers jumped on their host from Canyon Country and cruised to a 53-36 victory in a quarterfinal round contest.
So far, La Salle has won by 15 or more points in each of their three postseason games.
Kaden Cortes had a game-high 18 points for the Lancers, including nine in the second quarter.
Cortes hit both of La Salle’s 3-pointers.
Audrey Chen had 12 and Reese Wong scored 10 points.
Josie Regez paced the Canyon offense with 15 points and Jade Sims scored 14 in a losing cause.
Up next: The Lancers will travel to Redondo Union in Saturday’s semifinal.
The Sea Hawks (17-11) defeared San Clemente, 66-54, on Wednesday.
