Boys Basketball:
Make it 12 consecutive wins for the Mustangs.
Walnut earned its spot in Tuesday’s CIF-SS Division 2A quarterfinal with a 61-54 victory at Palos Verdes.
WHS outscored the Sea Kings, 35-29, on Friday night.
Gavin Ibrahim led the Mustangs with 17 points and four rebounds.
Malik Khouzam contributed 16 points and five rebounds.
Joby Barnes had 14 points and four boards.
And Adrian Triplett finished with eight points and eight rebounds.
Sean Cosgrove and Alex Hassanein scored 15 points apiece for Palos Verdes.
Hassanein had half of the Sea Kings’ four 3-pointers.
Up next: The Mustangs will face the winner of Saturday’s Shalhevet-La Mirada game.
