Boys Basketball:
It turned out to be a great night for the San Dimas boys basketball program.
The Saints defeated visiting Covina, 57-49, on Tuesday evening.
And thanks to Northview’s 49-46 triumph of second-place Diamond Ranch, the Saints are the official 2022-23 Valle Vista League champions.
With one game to play, SDHS has a two-game lead over the Panthers.
Logan Hodson played huge for the Saints, scoring a game-high 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
Ethan Chavez chipped in with 15 points and six boards.
Nathan Yearout had 11 points and Aaron Park ran the offense with six points and six assists for the champs.
Heworth Abraham led Covina with 13 points and Devin Cevallos had 10.
Matthew Hsieh and Aiden Baltazar contributed eight points apiece for the Colts.
Baltazar hit two of Covina’s four 3-pointers.
