Ayala cruised to a 60-23 victory at Glendora on Tuesday night.

It secured the Bulldogs program a share of the Palomares League championship with Alta Loma and Bonita.

Ayala got out to a 42-0 lead thanks to a forfeit at 106 pounds (Jren Chan).

And AHS would get consecutive pins from BK Martinez (113), Jacob Kim (120), Brandon Duran (126), Dean Collins (132), John Gonzalez (138) and 145-pound Diego Eligio.

Glendora’s Cale Smith got the Tartans on the board with his pin at 152 pounds.

Jeshua Hennerty (160) extended Ayala’s lead to 48-6 with his first-period pin.

GHS’ Marquize Brown dominated Ayala’s Tommy Tucay, 17-0, at 170 pounds.

Wyatt Summerford and Jackson Evans pushed each other around for a bit and then the Bulldogs 182-pound junior won via pin fall.

Glendora sophomore Issac Gomez got a pin at 195 pounds.

Ethan Ochoa (GHS, 220) and Nicholas Partida (Ayala heavyweight) won via forfeit.

Eight of Ayala’s 10 victories came via pin fall.

After the match, AHS coach Grant Brunier said his team was a little too inexperienced for this Saturday’s CIF-SS team duals, which will give his wrestlers 10 days or so to get ready for Palomares League finals.
