Boys Basketball:
Etiwanda took over sole possession of the Baseline League’s top spot on Friday night.
The Eagles used a 25-14 run in the fourth quarter to edge the Spartans, 57-53, and EHS is now 5-0 in league play.
Amare Campbell had a game-high 19 points, including a pair of 3-pointers for the Eagles.
Curtis Williams chipped in with 15 points.
Damien sophomore Nate Garcia paced the Spartans offense with 15 points.
Xavier Clinton hit three 3’s, and finished with 14 points.
Elijah Brown finished with 12 points in the loss.
With five league games to play, including a season-finale rematch at Etiwanda, the Eagles hold a one-game lead over Damien.
