Bonita got one step closer to a share of its first wrestling league championship in close to 40 years.
The Bearcats dominated visiting Glendora, 54-18, on senior night.
BHS won 10 of the 14 matches, including seven via pin fall.
Bonita got out to a 27-0 lead as Chris Casanave (106) won by forfeit and then the Bearcats got pins from Elias Echeveste (113), Owen Callaway (120) and Dylan Garcia (126)
BHS 132-pounder, Izaiah Huerta, defeated Glendora’s Alex Ham, 11-4.
GHS got its first win of the night at 138 pounds, as Nick Frais defeated Cole Shendrick, 14-8.
Tristan Fernandez (145) and Nathan Gonzalez (160), though, would all but put the match away with first-period pins for Bonita.
Glendora got quick pin-fall victories from Cale Smith (152) and 170-pound Marquize Brown.
At 182 pounds, Bonita’s Michael Martinez grinded out a 7-4 victory over Jackson Evans in one of the most intense matches of the night.
Glendora’s Issac Gomez picked up a 4-2 victory over CT Clancey at 195 pounds.
Micah Tofilau (220) and heavyweight Andrew Figueroa pinned their GHS opponents to close out the dual.
With a win next week against Colony, Bonita coach Rob Froh and his program would claim its share of the Palomares League title with Ayala and Alta Loma.
