Boys Basketball:
Walnut kept itself just one-game back of first-place Diamond Bar thanks to Wednesday’s 84-67 Hacienda League victory at Wilson.
The Mustangs took a 15-point lead into the break and improved to 4-1 in league games.
Joby Barnes led the way with 29 points, five rebounds and eight assists.
Barnes hit five 3-pointers.
Malik Khouzam chipped in with 17 points, six steals, five assists and five rebounds.
A. Triplett provided 14 points and eight boards.
Isaiah Leon finished with 11 points in Wednesday’s win.
Up next: Walnut will host Diamond Bar on Friday in the hopes of evening its two-game Hacienda League series with the Brahmas.
