Girls Basketball:
If you’ve been paying attention to the SGV area girls basketball scene over the past two-plus years, you’d know that La Salle guard Audrey Chen has been one of the most prolific scorers.
And to back up that claim, consider it took Chen just two years and 21 games to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
On Thursday, Chen scored seven points in a 52-20 blowout of visiting Serra in Del Rey League play.
Casey Higgins had a team-high eight points for La Salle.
And Audrey’s older sister, Ellie Chen, chipped in with seven points of her own.
Kaden Cortes also chipped in with seven points, as the Lancers are just one-half game back of first-place St. Paul.
Nasia Thompson led Serra and all scorers with 12 points.
Reese Wong scored her six points on a pair of 3-pointers, and Julianne Tan finished with six points in the win.
Up next: La Salle travels to St. Anthony on Tuesday at 7.
