Girls Basketball:
Flintridge Prep was facing a steep enough climb on Wednesday evening.
The Wolves, ranked second in the most recent CIF-SS Division 3AA poll had to travel to Village Christian (No. 4 in D-2A).
And what made the task even more difficult was having just a six-man rotation.
VCHS would cruise to a 73-55 victory in a nonleague contest.
The Crusaders outscored the Wolves, 40-24, in the second and third quarters.
Layla Davis led VCHS with 30 points and Bryanne Lopez had 10 points in the win.
Ashley Chea led the Wolves with 23 points and nine rebounds.
Maddie Smith chipped in with 16 points, six boards and three assists.
Akemi Fu provided nine points, three rebounds and three assists.
Pressley Huie had seven points and four rebounds.
Up next: The Wolves host Providence on Friday night in a Prep League contest.
The tip is slated for 6.
