Diamond Bar Claims Glendora Tournament Title, Defeating Bishop Amat, 45-44, on Saturday; Malcolm Bell Named MVP

Boys Basketball:

It’s been a pretty remarkable start to the 2022-23 season for the Diamond Bar boys basketball program.

The Brahmas went 4-0 at Glendora to claim the tournament championship.

DBHS needed and got a 45-44 victory over Bishop Amat on Saturday night.

They outscored the Lancers, 12-6, in the final quarter.

DBHS improved their season record to 11-2.

Malcolm Bell was named the Tournament MVP.

Bell had 14 points, eight rebounds and three steals on Saturday.

Caleb Wright added 13 points and five rebounds.

Bishop Amat’s Manuel Chavez had a game-high 16 points.

Shawn Stinson chipped in with 15 and Eli Chavez had 13 points for the Lancers.

Ethan Alfonso contributed seven points, four rebounds and two steals.

Dior Brown, who hit the game-winning 3-pointer on Friday against San Dimas, finished with four points, nine rebounds and three steals for the Brahmas.
