Boys Basketball:

If you’re a San Dimas fan, the only thing more satisfying than beating Bonita is accomplishing that feat inside the Bearcats’ gym.

SDHS took a seven-point lead into the break, and they held on for a 73-69 victory on Monday night.

And their offense was as balanced as one could hope for.

Each of the five SDHS scorers in last night’s rivalry game finished in double figures.

Ethan Chavez had a game-high 23 points for SDHS.

Chavez hit four 3-pointers, and had 15 second-half points.

Colton Perez scored 11 of his team-high 22 points in the second half for Bonita, as BHS outscored SDHS, 40-37, in the third and fourth quarters.

The Bearcats had an impressive balanced attack of their own.

Jake Matsuo had 15, Josh Kim provided 13 and Jordan Kenwood scored nine points for BHS.

All 15 of Matsuo’s points came from beyond the 3-point arc.

San Dimas got 18 points from Nate Yearout, Aaron Park had 12, David Liese 11 and Logan Hodson chipped in with 10 points in the win.

Hodson controlled the boards with 16 rebounds and Park dished out seven assists.

Up next: SDHS and Bonita will both be in action tonight (Tuesday).

The Saints face Hesperia at 6, and the Bearcats meet up with Charter Oak at 5:30.
