Walnut Remains Unbeaten After Thursday’s 71-25 Victory Over Charter Oak; Malik Khouzam Leads Way w/21 Points

Boys Basketball:

Malik Khouzam had a memorable Thursday night at the Northview Tournament.

The Walnut senior had a game-high 21 points in the Mustangs’ 71-25 victory over Charter Oak.

Khouzam also tallied 10 steals, four assists and four rebounds.

On top of that, he passed Zuri Williams to become the school’s career steals leader.

And set a new record for 10 steals in a game.

Walnut had a 21-point lead after the first eight minutes and took a 51-6 advantage into the break.

Calvin De Jesus chipped in with nine points, and Joby Barnes contributed nine points, four assists and three steals.

Adrian Triplett finished with eight points and four rebounds, and Brandon Shih provided eight points, four rebounds and three assists.

Up next: Walnut meets up with Chino Hills tonight (Friday) at 6:30.
