Boys Basketball:
It’s not often that one player outscores an entire team.
But that’s what happened on Thursday.
Damien’s Nate Garcia had 24 points in a 73-21 victory over Claremont.
The Spartans took a 34-point lead into the half and the contest was never competitive.
Xavier Clinton chipped in with 13 points and Elijah Smith had 11.
Claremont’s Colby Brogan (9 points) and Hugo Montejo (7) combined for 16 of Claremont’s 21 points.
Up next: Claremont will battle Northview today (Friday) at 5, and Damien faces Covina at 8.
Both games are part of the Northview Tournament.
