Boys Basketball:
Damien didn’t start or finish very strong.
But the Spartans did enough in quarters two and three to outlast Riverside Poly, 46-38, Friday at the Sunny Hills Tournament.
Nate Garcia scored 12 of his game-high 16 points in the second half.
Eli Garner and Xavier Clinton provided 11 points each for the Spartans.
Kory Dodson had a team-high 10 points for Poly.
Up next: DHS will close out Sunny Hills Tournament play with a 4:30 showdown today (Saturday) against La Mirada (3-1).
