Boys Basketball:
Fresh off a state championship in 2021-22, Mike LeDuc’s boys opened the season on Monday at the Sunny Hills Tournament.
And the Spartans got off to a great start, and cruised to a 75-61.
Nate Garcia scored 17 of his game-high 26 points in the first half.
Eli Garner had 15 in the win, and Caiden Brown chipped in with 13 points for Damien.
Johann Kwon led Sunny Hills with 15 points and Justin Shim finished with 13.
Up next: Damien battles Santa Fe tonight (Tuesday) at 7:30.
The Chiefs (1-0) defeated Western Christian, 63-53, on Monday.
