Claremont left zero doubt as to who the San Antonio League’s best program is in 2022.

The Wolfpack claimed the outright championship after Friday’s 24-0 victory over second-place West Covina.

In San Antonio League play, CHS outscored its opponents by a combined margin of 89-16.

Zack Leeper tends to make big plays when it counts most, and Friday was no different.

Just under three minutes in, Leeper picked a pass and brought it back 60 yards for a TD.

Towards the end of the first period, CHS quarterback Nathan Giles got outside of the WCHS defense and sprinted 61 yards into the south end zone and the lead grew to 14-0.

Giles 34-yard field goal in the second quarter gave Claremont a 17-0 lead at the break.

And Giles would close out the Wolfpack scoring with a 1-yard TD on a fourth-and-goal play.

The Claremont defense would do the rest, as WCHS struggled all night offensively.

With perhaps the exception of Bulldogs running back Zach Requena, who had a game-high 128 yards rushing on 17 carries.

Giles had just three carries, but totaled 66 yards.

Claremont’s stud, Caden Campuzano, rushed for 61 yards on nine carries.

At the very bottom of this story are video interviews and some highlights.
