To improve their chances of a CIF-SS playoff berth, Glendora needed and earned a victory on Thursday night.

One week after a disappointing 30-point loss at Colony in the Citrus 4 League opener, GHS ran away with a 48-14 decision over visiting Los Osos.

The Grizzlies would open the scoring, however, when Mason Overacker hit Andrew Garcia on a 3-yard TD pass in the first quarter.

Glendora would score the next 34 points and never looked back.

Marquize Brown got the Tartans even with his 20-yard TD run in the second quarter.

Kyle Ferm rumbled in from seven yards out to give GHS their first lead of the game, and they would not trail again.

Ferm had a big night with 153 yards rushing on 13 carries.

And that included TD runs of 7 and 48 yards.

Eric Najarro completed 9-of-15 for 91 yards and two TD’s.

Najarro hooked up with Robert Solis on a 48-yard scoring strike to extend the Glendora lead to 28-7.

Solis also picked off a pass on defense.

Decker DeGraaf had a 9-yard TD reception in the third quarter.

Jacob Valladarez scored the Grizzlies’ other TD, as he sprinted into the end zone from 12 yards out.

The GHS defense made life miserable on the LOHS air game.

CJ Solis-Lumar had a 50-yard pick-six, and Matthew Jordan would close out the Tartans scoring by picking off a fourth-quarter pass and bringing it back 75 yards for a TD.

Marquize Brown finished with 79 yards rushing on nine carries, and the score.

Up next: GHS and Los Osos will finish out its regular season schedule next Thursday.

The Tartans will travel to Covina District Field to battle South Hills.

And LOHS hosts first-place Colony.
