Girls Athlete of the Week:
South Hills senior Mia Delahoussaye and her teammates accomplished something this week that the program hadn’t achieved in 13 years.
With Monday and Wednesday victories over Wilson and Walnut, respectively, South Hills clinched its first (Hacienda) League championship since 2009.
The Huskies swept the Wildcats by scores of 25-12, 25-9 and 25-10.
Delahoussaye had 10 kills, seven digs and an ace.
Two days later, SHHS defeated second-place Walnut by scores of 25-21, 25-21, 17-25 and 27-25.
The Mustangs only two setbacks in league came at the hands of South Hills.
And the 6-foot-3 senior saved her best for the title clincher.
Delahoussaye had 37 kills, 10 digs, two blocks, and an ace.
