Girls Athlete of the Week:
While the FSHA girls volleyball program is 15-13 overall, the Tologs are 4-1 where it counts.
And that’s in Angelus League matches.
FSHA didn’t have a great start to the week.
In fact, they got swept in Monday’s Angelus League showdown at Notre Dame.
But the Tologs would claim a five-set victory at Louisville on Tuesday.
FSHA won by scores of 25-18, 20-25, 25-16, 22-25 and 15-10.
Two nights later, the Tologs would get payback on Notre Dame.
They swept the Knights by scores of 25-23, 25-20 and 25-11 to remain in a first-place tie with Chaminade.
For the week, Hsieh had 13 kills, 34 assists, 49 digs, five blocks and an ace.
Up next: FSHA will resume Angelus League play on Monday, as they host Immaculate Heart (10-9, 0-3).
The match is set to start at 6.
Quotable:
FSHA coach, Trent Tcheng: “Mikayla helps solidify our setting and our defense, two areas where we have been struggling to find consistency. Since she became eligible, the team play has become a lot better, and the team is close to figuring out their identity. This past week was a great example of how she was able to provide help the team close out two important league matches.”
