Football:
St. Francis opened Angelus League play on Friday night with a 45-14 victory over visiting Paraclete.
Devyn Turner scored three rushing TD’s, as the Golden Knights reached the .500 mark for the first time since week one.
After beginning the season 1-3, and in between a week-five bye, St. Francis has consecutive wins over Muir and Paraclete by a combined margin of 86-14.
Turner’s TD runs were of 8, 45 and 12 yards.
His third TD gave the Golden Knights a 28-0, second-quarter lead.
St. Francis would score the game’s first 45 points before Paraclete found the end zone twice in the fourth quarter.
Preston Jernegan had a 28-yard pick-six for the Golden Knights.
Jack Jacobs threw a 65-yard TD pass to DruShun Phillips and a 16-yarder to Jett McCullough.
Clint Geryak was 6-for-6 on extra-point attempts and finished the scoring for St. Francis with a 45-yard field goal in the third quarter.
Up next: The Golden Knights travel to Cathedral next Friday.
The Phantoms (5-1) defeated Crespi, 40-14, in their Angelus League opener.
