West Covina Defeats Chaffey & Bishop Diego at Friday’s Chino Hills Tournament; Munoz Scores 12 Goals for Bulldogs

Boys Water Polo:

West Covina picked up a pair of victories on Friday in the Chino Hills Tournament.

The Bulldogs defeated Chaffey, 18-4, and closed out the day with a 16-9 triumph of Bishop Diego.

In game one, West Covina is looking to secure a 1st place trophy this weekend at the Chino Hills Tournament. The boys came out strong dominating Chaffey 18-4. They will look to carry this momentum into their next game against Bishop Diego

Zachary Elhussieny and Matthew Munoz led WCHS with five goals and two assists apiece.

Freshman Joseph Savoy scored three goals, including his first hat trick as a Bulldog.

Ezekiel Dominguez, Izaiah Reyes, Xavier Hernandez and Matthew Vasquez scored one goal each.

Ryan Diaz blocked all three shots he faced in two quarters of action.

In game two, the Bulldogs claimed a 16-9 victory.

Matthew Munoz led the offense with seven goals.

Zachary Elhussieny contributed four goals.

Matthew Vasquez had three goals.

Izaiah Reyes and Ethan Lew chipped in with one goal apiece.

Xavier Hernandez had a season-high five steals.

Up next: WCHS will be back in action on Saturday.
