South Hills Wins First Football Game in 1,034 Days; Huskies’ Defense Leads Way in 21-7 Victory at Diamond Ranch

The losing streak is over.

South Hills earned a 21-7 victory at Diamond Ranch on Friday night.

It was the Huskies first win since defeating West Covina (42-13) back on October 18th of 2019.

South Hills took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and the defense did the rest.

Daniel Astorga led the way with nine tackles, which included a sack and a forced fumble.

SHHS safeties Jayvion Boone and Landon Hanson had seven tackles.

Jayden Arnold, the Huskies middle linebacker, totaled six tackles.

And Joaquin Dominguez contributed seven tackles and a sack.

Gary San Angelo rushed for 144 yards on 15 carries.

San Angelo scored twice in Friday’s win.

Up next: The Huskies will battle Covina on Friday at Covina District Field.

The Colts (0-0) did not play a week zero contest.
