East Los Angeles Dodgers Get Three Scoreless Innings Apiece From Godoy, Novella & Acker in Friday’s 6-0 Victory Over So Cal Shepherds

With two games to play in the Best of the West League regular season, the East Los Angeles Dodgers moved to within one-half a game of the fourth-place So Cal Shepherds, after Friday’s 6-0 victory over SCS.

The Dodgers got three scoreless innings apiece from Joe Godoy, Noe Novella and Charles Acker.

Godoy allowed one hit, walked four and struck out five.

Novella gave up one hit, issued two walks and fanned three.

Acker scattered four hits, did not allow a walk and struck out four Shepherds’ batters.

Alex Laureano had two of the SCS’ six hits.

Andrew White walked twice and singled, and Rhett Stein walked and singled.

Shane Poe and Raul Soto Romero had one single each.

The Dodgers got two runs on four hits against Ritter Steinman, three runs on four hits against Andrew White, and one run off of Cameron Kelly on two hits.

Juan Guardado walked, doubled twice, homered, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.

Michael Cunningham went 2-for-4, with a double, run and one RBI.

Jose Marquez walked and had an RBI single.

Daniel Santos singled and scored.

Alex Sardina walked twice and scored.

The Shepherds and Dodgers both play games Saturday and Sunday, and then they’ll meet up again on Tuesday in a wild card game

Tuesday’s victor will face the top-seeded Ventura County Pirates on Wednesday, and the loser will be eliminated.
