Eli Paton Doubles, Triples & Drives in Two in Ventura County Pirates’ 4-1 Victory Over IV Bucs in Tuesday’s BOTW League Contest

With three games remaining in their Best of the West League Schedule, the Ventura County Pirates took a half-game lead over the second-place Inland Valley Pirates, thanks to Tuesday’s 4-1 victory over the IV Bucs.

The Pirates got one in the top of the first inning and three more in the seventh to pull away from the Bucs.

Alex Abbot went six innings and allowed one run on six hits.

Abbot walked one and fanned a pair of IVB batters.

Andrew Tovar was credited with the win, going two scoreless innings, allowing three hits, walking one and striking out one.

Andrew Dusablon earned the save after striking out the side.

Nate Slaman singled and hit a solo shot to account for the Bucs offense.

Hayden Winters had a game-high three singles.

Nin Burns, Devon Diaz, Ryan Kim and Christian Killian had one hit apiece in Tuesday’s loss.

Nicolas Ramirez was struck with the loss.

Ramirez allowed four runs on seven hits over his seven-inning performance.

Former Maranatha High School stud, Eli Paton, doubled, tripled, scored and drove in half of the Pirates four runs.

Robbie Treto singled and hit a solo HR.

Andrew Tovar singled twice and scored.

Andrew Buglino also had a pair of singles and scored one run.

Quintt Landis had an RBI base hit.

Up next: The Pirates will host the IV Pirates today (Wednesday), and with a win, they’d have a 1.5 game lead with two to play.
