BOTW Players of the Week:
Drew Salyers, So Cal Shepherds
As the So Cal Shepherds approach the halfway mark, they find themselves 3.5 games behind the first-place Inland Valley Pirates.
At times, the Shepherds’ (9-6) offense has struggled mightily to score runs.
But Drew Salyers had paced the SCS offense in good times and bad.
This past week, Salyers went 9-for-17, with two doubles, five runs, three walks, four stolen bases and an RBI.
For the season, and with a minimum of 20 at-bats, Salyers leads the Shepherds in average (380), hits (19), doubles (six), and his nine RBIs are third best.
Jovan Camacho, Ventura County Pirates
The Pirates (12-3) enter the all-star week just one-half game back of the IVP.
And Jovan Camacho has been a huge part of that success.
This past week, Camacho went 7-15, with a double, five runs scored, six RBIs, five walks and a stolen base.
For the season, he’s batting .356, with 26 hits, 18 runs, 17 RBIs and nine stolen bases.
