Inland Valley Bucs Finish Weekend w/a 5-1 BOTW League Victory Over First-Place Inland Valley Pirates

What a weekend it’s been for the Inland Valley Bucs.

In a three-day span, they defeated the second-place Ventura County Pirates, the fourth-place Arroyo Seco Sentinels, and on Sunday, the Bucs claimed a 5-1 victory over the first-place Inland Valley Pirates.

IVB started the weekend with just one Best of the West League victory, and they sat in the league’s basement.

In Sunday’s win, Nate Campos-Jaramillo went for scoreless innings, allowing four hits, didn’t issue a walk and fanned four Pirates’ batters.

Devon Diaz was credited with the win, going two scoreless and hitless innings.

He walked two and struck out one.

Bradley Chesterton hit a solo shot in the top of the eighth inning to account for the only IVP run.

Cole Koniarsky singled twice.

Austin Haller walked and doubled, and Ignacio Alvarez walked and singled.

Chris Ceballos went five scoreless innings for the Pirates.

Ceballos allowed four hits, walked one and struck out six Bucs’ batters.

IVB out-hit the IVP, 11-5.

Hayden Winters tripled, scored and had a game-best three RBIs.

Devon Diaz walked, singled, doubled, scored twice and had one RBI.

Connor Green singled and doubled, and Chad Green went 2-for-4, with an RBI.

Nin Burns walked singled, scored twice and had one RBI.

Ryan Kim walked and had two singles in Sunday’s win.
