Trailing 4-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning in a Best of the West League contest, JP Hefft changed the game with one swing.
Hefft hit a grand slam to give the So Cal Shepherds their first lead of the game, and they would go on to defeat the visiting Inland Valley Bucs, 9-5, on Saturday.
The Shepherds got six runs in the sixth, one in the seventh and two more in the eighth to pull away.
Matthew Henry went five innings for the Bucs and allowed two runs on no hits.
Henry walked three and fanned four So Cal batters.
Robert Mansour was touched up for two runs on one hit and two walks in his one inning of work.
Julian DeLeon went two innings and was stuck with the loss after surrendering five runs on four hits, two of which were home runs.
Drew Salyers doubled twice and drove in three runs.
Shane Poe hit a solo shot and scored twice.
Brendan Coffindaffer walked three times and scored two runs.
Rhett Stein walked, singled, scored and had an RBI, and Brandon Adams walked and scored.
The Bucs got to Ritter Steinmann for four runs on four hits in his four innings.
Steinmann walked three and struck out five IVB batters.
Andrew White and Cameron Kelly combined to go three scoreless innings for the Shepherds.
Enoch Kim was credited with the win, going one inning and allowing one run on one hit and a walk.
Melchor Flores singled twice, scored and drove in a pair of runs.
Nin Burns walked, singled, doubled and scored.
Robert Mansour walked, singled and scored.
Chase Siffert singled and scored for the Bucs.
