The Alaska Goldpanners scored four runs in the bottom of the first and ninth innings to defeat Ventura County, 8-6, on Friday.
And they did so in dramatic fashion.
Trailing 6-4, and with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Rafael Flores hit a walk-off grand slam.
Dylan Goodrich went the first four innings for Ventura, allowing four runs on eight hits.
He didn’t issue a walk and struck out three.
John Paul Caire provided two scoreless innings of relief, and Brady Schrank was saddled with the loss.
Schrank went 2 2/3 innings, surrendered four unearned runs on two hits, walked two and fanned four.
Matthew Pinal singled, homered, scored twice and had two RBIs.
Brock Kleszcz walked, singled, tripled and scored two runs.
Tate Shimao walked, doubled twice and had a pair of RBIs.
Sean Rimmer and Dalton Sloniger singled and scored one run each.
Nolan Meredith went four innings for Alaska, surrendering three runs on eight hits.
Cole Alexander was touched up for three runs on three hits in one inning of work.
Andrew Troppmann was credited with the win after going four scoreless, allowing two hits, not issuing a walk and fanning five Ventura batters.
Robbie Treto had a huge game for the Pirates.
Treto doubled twice, homered and scored a pair of runs.
Ryan Camacho singled, doubled and scored, and Jovan Camacho singled and had two doubles.
Angelo Aleman singled, scored and drove in two runs.
Andrew Tovar and Daniel Laughery singled and scored one run apiece.
Eli Paton singled, was hit by pitch and had one RBI.
