Baseball:
If you’re a fan of high-scoring baseball (like a lot of us), San Dimas was the place to be on Tuesday.
The Saints hosted Villa Park in a game that featured runs in all seven innings, and both programs combined for 17 runs, 21 hits and six errors.
Eight of the 21 hits were of the extra-base variety.
Villa Park left the SGV with a 9-8 victory in the second round of the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs.
After trailing 5-2 as they grabbed their bats in the bottom of the third inning, San Dimas took an 8-5 lead into the fifth inning.
But Villa Park got one run in both the fifth and seventh innings, and scored twice in the sixth.
Kasen Khansarinia went 4 2/3 innings and allowed six runs on five hits.
Khansarinia walked four and struck out six VP batters.
Villa Park got three runs (two earned) on six hits against Kody King.
King went two innings, walked one and struck out one.
Jack Burke walked, doubled, tripled, scored a pair of runs and had two RBIs.
Geoff McArthur walked twice, had two singles, three runs and an RBI.
Britton Beeson singled, doubled and drove in two.
San Dimas got to Zach Brown for five runs (two earned) on six hits in Brown’s two innings of work.
The Saints would touch up Brandon Luu for three runs on four hits in 1 2/ innings.
Mason Miles got the win after three perfect innings of relief, including striking out three SDHS batters.
Landon White singled, doubled, scored twice and had one RBI.
Ayden Garcia singled, doubled and scored twice.
Robert Castillo went 2-for-4, scored twice and had three RBIs.
Vaughn Coleman and Tyler Pardus singled and had one RBI apiece.
Ryder Young walked, singled twice, scored and drove in one.
