After a pair of impressive road wins in the CIF-SS Division 4 playoffs, La Salle would fall to El Modena, 2-1, at Arcadia County Park.
The Vanguards out-hit the Lancers, 8-3, on Tuesday.
Nick Santivanez went six innings and allowed an unearned run on two hits.
Santivanez didn’t issue a walk and struck out a trio of La Salle batters.
Bryant Smaaladen got the final three outs to earn the save.
David Mysza, AJ Beltre and Hunter Vigil had one single apiece to account for the La Salle offense.
Andrew Boecking scored the Lancers’ lone run in the bottom of the third inning.
David Mysza went 4 1/3 scoreless innings for the Lancers and scattered four hits.
Mysza walked one and fanned three.
AJ Beltre allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits over his 2 2/3 innings.
Beltre walked two and struck out a pair of El Modena batters.
Nick Aufdemberg walked, singled twice and scored.
