Baseball:
Etiwanda opened the CIF-SS Division 2 playoffs on Thursday by dominating their visitors from Temecula Valley.
The Eagles out-hit the Golden Bears 11-3, and cruised to a 10-2 victory.
Dylan Goff was in control throughout.
Goff went six innings and allowed two runs on three hits.
He walked three and struck out 10 TVHS batters.
Yahir Ramirez got the final three outs, including one via strikeout.
Darin Chapman doubled and scored.
Darren Verdugo singled and scored.
And Cody Liscio singled and had both of the Golden Bears’ two RBIs.
Liscio also got the loss, allowing eight runs on nine hits.
Liscio went 4 2 innings, walked two and struck out six.
Armando Briseno singled, hit a three-run HR and drove in four runs.
Tyler McEvoy doubled, scored and had two RBIs.
Parker Sobiesiak went 2-for-4, with two runs and an RBI.
Austen Roellig walked, singled twice, scored a pair of runs and had two RBIs.
Tyler Shigenaka doubled and scored.
Brady Ebel walked and had an RBI single.
Abraham Zapata and Kaedon Mas walked and scored one run apiece.
Mike Harrison and Freddie Capacete singled once each in Thursday’s win.
Christian Mosqueda scored once.
Up next: The Eagles will travel to Warren on Tuesday.
The Bears (21-6-1) defeated visiting Beckman, 2-1, in their first-round game.
