Baseball:
La Salle got a pair of runs in the top of the second inning and never trailed in Tuesday’s 7-1 victory at Glendora.
JJ Nolan went three innings and allowed three runs (one earned) on two hits.
Nolan walked two and fanned four Lancers’ batters.
La Salle got one run on two hits off Evan Ellis, and three runs on two hits and a walk against Matthew Moreno.
AJ Beltre had half of the Lancers’ six hits, including a double and scored twice.
Andrew Boecking had a big game with a walk, single and three RBIs.
Evan Nahra walked and scored three runs.
Douglas Pyle singled and scored.
Mauricio Pavon singled and drove in a run.
David Mysza had an RBI on a sac fly in the sixth inning.
Val Gomez scored once in Tuesday’s win.
AJ Beltre went three innings and allowed one run on five hits and two walks.
David Mysza provided 3 2/3 scoreless innings on two hits.
The Lancers’ two-sport star walked one and struck out five in Tuesday’s CIF-SS Division 4 wild card game.
Joseph Gilkeson, the SGV’s leader in hits (43) and average (.530), went 2-for-4, with a double and scored the Tartans’ lone run.
Ajay Rollice singled twice, and Brady Baeza singled home Gilkeson in the bottom of the second inning.
Michael Moses and Carson Mounce had one single apiece to account for the rest of the GHS offense.
Up next: The Lancers travel to Hemet on Thursday.
The Bulldogs (14-8-1) are the Inland Valley League champions.
