Baseball:
Northview accomplished a feat that no one had been able to pull off in 17 years.
The Vikings swept San Dimas in a two-game Valle Vista League series.
NHS edged the Saints, 6-4, and improved to 4-0 in VVL games.
Back in 2005, Northview claimed a three-game sweep of SDHS.
Trailing 4-1 in the top of the fifth, the Vikings got three runs and one each in the sixth and seventh innings to secure the win.
Alex Ramos went five innings for SDHS and allowed four runs (three earned) on two hits.
Ramos walked six and fanned four NHS batters.
Jacob Becerra and Kody King both provided one inning of relief and Northview scored once against both Saints’ pitchers.
Isaiah Cruz hit a three-run shot in the fifth to tie the score at 4-4.
Cruz scored twice and had four RBIs.
Ivan Barragan walked, singled, scored twice and had an RBI.
Andrew Granados went two innings for NHS, allowing one run on four hits.
Kiki Villegas surrendered three runs (one earned) on three hits and a walk.
And Dean Curley cemented the sweep with a scoreless seventh inning of relief, including one strikeout.
Jake Ferretti walked, singled, scored and had an RBI for SDHS.
Rocco Regan had a pair of singles on Friday.
Ryan Castro singled and scored.
Tyler Parus had an RBI on a sac fly.
Landon White, Kasen Khansarinia and Ayden Garcia had one hit each for the Saints.
Vaughn Coleman and John Nauertz scored one run apiece.
Up next: San Dimas travels to West Covina on Wednesday and Northview visits Glendora on Tuesday.
