Baseball:
The news shocked many in the Palomares League on Tuesday.
Bonita, which entered the contest unbeaten in league play, dropped a 7-3 contest at last-place Colony.
The setback allowed Ayala to catch the Bearcats atop the league standings.
What many of us didn’t know was that Colony took a full session of batting practice in three stations, which is against league rules.
BHS coach Ryan Marcos confirmed that he made Colony’s Buddy Morales aware that they were going to play the game under protest.
Bonita has video evidence of the scene as they arrived at the Ontario school.
The Bearcats are in the preliminary stages of deciding whether to pull the trigger on the protest, which would include and start with both school’s athletic directors discussing the situation and hopefully coming to a resolution.
If all the facts are backed up with evidence, as it seems they do, the Titans would have to forfeit Tuesday’s win.
We will continue to follow this story and provide updates when we get them.
