College Baseball:
Mt. SAC bounced back nicely from Thursday’s disappointing loss at Long Beach City College.
The Mounties gave up a 2-run, walk-off home run, as the Vikings evened the series at 1-1.
Two days later, though, and Mt. SAC pounded LBCC pitching in a 17-2 beatdown.
Jeff Isenhart improved to 2-0 after a solid six-inning outing.
Isenhart allowed one run on two hits.
He walked three and struck out five LBCC batters.
Isenhart leads the MSAC pitching staff with 33 strikeouts.
Kegan Wentz, Hunter Holmes and Anthony Corrales went one inning apiece to close out the Vikings.
Bryan Sanders walked, tripled, scored and had one RBI.
JT Mendoza had a pinch-hit single and scored in the top of the ninth inning.
The Mounties out-hit Long Beach, 16-4, and scored on five of the six LBCC pitchers.
Evan Vasquez got the loss, allowing five runs on five hits in just 1 2/3 innings.
Will Bermudez walked, singled, doubled twice, drove in one run and scored five times.
Brent Cota walked and went 3-for-4, with two singles, two runs and three RBIs.
Cristian Enriquez walked, singled, hit a 3-run HR and finished with four RBIs.
Art Ruiz doubled and drove in four runs.
Blake Borgogno had an RBI triple and scored once on Saturday.
Damien Delgadillo walked twice, had two singles, an RBI and two runs scored.
Robbie Mansour had an RBI double and scored.
Elijah Pelayo went 3-for-4, scoring three runs and had a pair of RBIs.
CJ Ontiveros walked twice and scored.
Up next: MSAC will host Barstow on Tuesday evening at 5.
