Boys Volleyball:

What a way to open the season.

Arcadia went to South Pasadena, dropped game one, but regrouped, and defeated the Tigers in four.

The Apaches claimed victory by scores of 24-26, 25-19, 25-22 and 25-22.

Jesse Lok led the way with 24 kills.

Matthew Le had six kills.

Maison Chang contributed six kills and William Chan finished with seven kills.

Up next: AHS will get Temple City on Wednesday in their home opener.

Quotable:

First-Year Arcadia coach, Stephen Bernabe: “I am so proud of my boys and the adversity we had to deal with playing here. Taking over a program that needed a change is always a challenge. It takes a lot of time for players to buy into you fully. I am very grateful these young men trusted me enough to lead them during this game. If these boys stay healthy, we can accomplish something big, now they need to dream of a goal and work hard towards it. Keep an eye on us!”

Records: Arcadia (1-0); South Pasadena (2-4)
