College Baseball:

PCC and Mt. SAC meet up today (Tuesday) for the first of three games this week.

It’s also the South Coast Conference opener for both programs.

The Lancers and Mounties enter today’s game with identical 8-3 records.

Through the first 11 games, PCC has outscored its opponents by a margin of 106-64, while Mt. Sac has scored 92 runs and surrendered 55.

The Lancers have a .288 team batting average and a collective ERA of 4.97.

The Mounties pitching staff enters the week with a 4.32 ERA, and they’re hitting at a .317 clip.

It goes without saying that a sweep or even winning the series will set an early tone in SCC play.

PCC is currently riding a four-game win streak, while Mt. SAC is coming off a 14-6 loss at Orange Coast College.

The Mounties host the Lancers on Tuesday and Friday, and PCC’s lone home game of the series is Thursday afternoon.
