Ventura held Glendora to six goals under their scoring average in Saturday’s CIF-SS Division 2 quarterfinal.
But the Tartans grinded out an 8-5 victory and have earned a spot in the D-2 semifinals.
Hailey Andress led the way with goals, three assists, five steals and one ejection drawn.
Liz Ramirez: scored twice, and had six steals, an assist, and an ejection drawn.
Rachelle Herrera chipped in with a goal and five steals.
Anika Nichols added a goal, two steals and an ejection drawn.
Jezreel Gomez scored once in Saturday’s victory.
Katie Duckworth shut Ventura out in the first half and finished with six saves.
Up next: GHS will host top-seeded Yucaipa on Wednesday.
The Thunderbirds (20-10) defeated La Canada, 16-3, on Saturday.
