Boys Basketball:
Ayala saved its best for Friday’s showdown with Laguna Hills in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 3A playoffs.
The Bulldogs outscored the Hawks, 24-5, in the fourth quarter, and claimed a 51-29 victory.
Jermaine Rogers scored 10 of his game-high 20 points in the decisive fourth quarter.
Two of Rogers three 3-pointers came in the fourth period.
Zach Murphy had nine points, and Dylan Victorio chipped in with six points in Friday’s win.
Elijah Laquian led Laguna Hills with 12 points, and Dominic Bolton contributed 11 points for the Hawks.
Up next: The Bulldogs host St. Pius X-St. Mathias Academy on Tuesday at 7.
The Warriors (17-6) defeated Miller, 88-53, on Friday.
