Boys Basketball:

One of the area’s best 1-2 punches played their last regular season high school game together.

And Noah Smith and Luke Jacobson didn’t disappoint.

Smith had 22 points, three rebounds and three assists, and Jacobson provided 15 points, 18 rebounds and six assists.

GHS would edge their host from Claremont, 76-68, on Friday evening.

Glendora catches Ayala for second place (behind Colony) in the Palomares League, and since the Tartans and Bulldogs are in different CIF-SS divisions, they both get a second-place league seeding.

Lado Limbe had a monster game for Claremont.

Limbe led all scorers with 34 points.

Charlie Katsiaficas had 11 for CHS.

And both Jerry Wu and Lamier Taylor had nine points apiece for the Wolfpack.

Chris Lee chipped in 16 points, two boards and an assist, and Braydon Wooldridge contributed 11 points, three rebounds and five assists.

Up next: GHS will find out its first-round playoff opponent on Tuesday at noon.

Quotable:
