Smith’s 30 Points Leads GHS to 76-59 Victory Over Claremont; Tartans Need Win on Friday to Catch Ayala for Second in Palomares

Boys Basketball:

After Thursday’s 76-59 victory over visiting Claremont, Glendora needs just a Friday victory at CHS to catch Ayala for second place in the Palomares League.

GHS needed a 40-24, second-half run to pull away from the Wolfpack.

Claremont hit a game-high 10 3-point baskets.

Glendora got 30 points from its star guard, Noah Smith.

Smith also tallied six rebounds and three assists.

Braydon Wooldridge had a solid game, scoring 16 points, grabbing three rebounds and dishing out four assists.

Luke Jacobson was four assists from a triple-double.

The Tartans’ forward had 13 points, 16 rebounds and four assists.

Charlie Katsiaficas led CHS with 15 points.

Lado Limbe contributed 14 points and Jerry Wu had 13 for the Wolfpack.

Up next: GHS will travel to Claremont tonight (Friday).

With a win, the Tartans would tie Ayala for second in the Palomares League.

And next Tuesday, CIF released the playoff pairings at noon.
