Girls Basketball:
Marshall Fundamental climbed its way out of the Mission Valley League cellar on Monday.
The Eagles defeated El Monte, 59-41, which earned Marshall its second MVL victory.
Ashley Siebels led MF with a game-high 18 points.
Sakuma Kaitlan chipped in with 11 points and Destiny Ihiaso had 10.
El Monte’s Annette Andrade had 14 points to pace the Lions offense.
Jolynn Abilar (8), Araxy Chivchyan (6) and Samantha Plasencia (5) combined for 19 points in the win.
Up next: The Eagles host South El Monte on Wednesday and travel to Mountain View on Friday.
