Boys Basketball:
Los Osos got off to a quick, 22-18 lead after the first quarter at Damien.
The Spartans, though, outscored the Grizzlies, 57-37 the rest of the way, and claimed a 75-59 Baseline League victory.
Jimmy Oladokun led all scorers with 24 points and Spivey Word finished with 23 points in the win.
Deacon Tolliver led Los Osos with 19 points and Eric Shepard had 15.
Brandon Suber scored seven points in the Grizzlies’ first-quarter surge, but he was held scoreless the rest of the way.
Up next: Damien has a chance to catch first-place Etiwanda on Monday.
The Spartans host the Eagles at 6:30
Los Osos travels to Upland on Tuesday.
